Pakistan Women cricket team wins key match against Bangladesh in WT20

Pakistan Women cricket team won a key group match against Bangladesh in the Women T20 world championship. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat. Pakistan exerted pressure right from the beginning when Anam Amin got her first wicket at 11 when opener Sanjida Islam was sent back to the pavillion. Asmavia Iqbal kept the pressure and got second wicket of Salma Khatun when the score was 22. Opener Sharmin Akhter and Fargana Hoque stabilized the inning by a third wicket partnership of over 43 runs. This key partnership was broken by Sana Mir when she claimed the wicked of Sharmin Akhter when the score was 65. Nigar Sultana was run out at 66 that ensured that the total score will be kept to a manageable level. Bangladesh finished their quota of 20 overs with a total of 113 for 9. Top scorers were Sharmin Akhter 19(49) and Fargana Hoque 36(53). Pakistani bowlers Anam Amin took two wickets for 12 runs and Asmavia Iqbal took 2 wickets for 30.

Pakistan lost a quick wickets of Nahida Khan when the score was 15 but after that they remained in total control of the match. Opener Sidra Amin had her first half century and remained unbeaten at 53(73) while one down Bismah Maroof 43(65) took the team home to a win by 9 wickets. Pakistan reached the target in 16.3 overs. Bangladesh tried seven bowlers but none of them could contain the Pakistan side. Lata Modal and Rumana Ahmed were most expensive conceding 20 runs in two overs each. Khadija Tul Kubra was most economical with 16 runs in 4 overs no wicket.

After defeating India and Bangladesh, Pakistan women team has a good chance of reaching the semi final stage of the Women World T20 Championship.
