Pakistan China begin joint air exercise Shaheen 2

Pakistan and China conduct regular joint exercises to strengthen security cooperation between two long standing partners. This week the two countries started second joint air exercise Shaheen 2 in the Northwestern Xinjiang province of China. First such exercise was held in March 2011.

According to Associated Pakistan Press (APP) F-7PG and Mirage planes are participating in these exercises from Pakistan side. The objective of the exercise is to enhance the air combat capability of the two air forces.

Pakistan and China has also indigenously developed JF-17 Thunder aircraft which have been inducted into Pakistan Air Force (PAF). These aircrafts are not participating in the exercise.
