Renowned Pakistani Singer Zubaida Khanam died

Zubaida Khanum, a renowned Pakistani female singer passed away on late night of Saturday October 19, 2013 in Lahore. She was 78  and died due to cardiac arrest after protracted illness. Her funeral prayers offered today and she has been laid to rest in Lahore.

Zubaida Khanum was remained top Pakistani female singer in 1950s and she was first introduced in film BILLO by Baba Chishti in 1951 and became more famous by film Shehri Babu in 1953.  She sang near about 200 songs in 147 movies. She had sung lot of super hit and evergreen songs in films in Urdu and Punjabi Languages. In the year 1956 she sang for many hit films, including “SARFAROSH”, “HAMEEDA”, “MISS 56” and “BAAGHI”.

In 1957 she gave hit songs “Aaye mausam rangeelay suhane’ and ‘Ghoonghat utha loun yah ghoonghat chupa loun. In 1959 she sang with Ahmed Rushdi ‘Chalak rahi hain mastiyan’ for ‘the the movie “RAAZ”.  In 1960 ‘Kiya hua dil pe sitam’ became very hit song from the movie ‘RAAT KE RAHI’.
