Iran-Pakistan pipeline expected to complete by 2015: Shahid Khaqan Abbasi

Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi informed the national assembly that Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline is expected to start production from Jan 2015. He was answering a question during the session of the parliament.

He said that PML N government will not accept pressure from anyone when it comes to national interest of the country.

The 900 kilometers long pipeline will cost an estimated 1.5 billion dollars. Iran has already completed its part of the pipeline. Government of Pakistan has requested financial help from Iran to complete its portion of the project. Iran has extended a 500 million dollars facility. China has expressed interest to be part of this project replacing original partner India.
