KPK is getting 500MW less than its share: Cm KPK

CM KP Pervez Khattak in a press conference demanded that federal government should provide KPK its fair share of electricity. He also threatened that if their demands wee not met they we will be forced to lodge protests on the streets and raise their voice. He also alleged that WAPDA is not repairing the transformers and linemen are seeking bribes from people to repair their connections. He demanded that people that are paying bills should be provided the desired service.

Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif responded to these allegations in a media interview. He said that electricity distribution network of KPK was severely damaged during floods of 2010 as well terrorist attacks on some major grid stations. He said that KPK distribution system will be repaired within next two months. He said that Rs.11 billion will be provided to KPK to upgrade its distribution system. He said that federal government will consider handing over control of distribution companies PESCO and HESCO.
