Two days investors conference opened in Dubai

A two days investors’ conference of American and Pakistani investors has been opened in Dubai today. In his opening remarks the Minister of Water and Power Khawaja Asif said that all proposal submitted in this conference will be seriously considered by the government for implementation. He said that Pakistan has an independent media and judiciary which are important for transparency and protection of investors. He said that privatization will be given top priority to create new opportunities for investors.

Khawaja Asif said that it is inevitable to raise power tariff but it will be ensured that poor are not affected adversely.

US Ambassador Richard Olsen said that with American help 965MW of power has been added to the grid. He said that US will try to improve the capacity of existing providers.
