ECP reserves verdict in petition PTI intra-party elections – Abdul Q Kundi

Former President of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce-USA & PTI Central Tarbiyati Council Abdul Quayyum Khan Kundi issued following statement about ECP reserving verdict in a PTI petition about IPE:

Yesterday Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) reserved its verdict in a petition filed by our grassroots activist Yousaf Ali to challenge the constitutionality of intra-party election in which Imran Khan has practically sold the party to investors. The verdict will be issued on November 28th after which we will decide our future course of action.

I congratulate Yousaf Ali on taking this important step to building PTI as an institution despite lack of resources. He had to compete with highly paid lawyer Babar Awan who questioned the validity of the petition on technicalities rather than defend the constitutionality of the intra-party elections.

PTI intra-party elections (IPE) was not only illegitimate and unconstitutional but was also rejected by 92% of party members. As followers of Quaid-e-Azam, we will continue our constitutional struggle to liberate PTI from the civilian dictatorship of Imran Khan and his status quo PTI-L (lotas or losers) that want to use the goodwill of PTI to win elections for their self-interest. We will keep reaching out to ECP to discharge its mandate of introducing democracy inside political parties. Our list of candidates is progressing well. Inshallah with your help and support PTI will award tickets to candidates that can deliver on its ideological promise. We will soon announce or criteria that have to be met by all candidates.
